Ready for a great deal? Amazon Wireless is selling the Verizon-branded Motorola Droid X for one red cent. It’ll be shipped to you within two days free of charge. Of course, an offer this good requires a new individual or family account. Upgrade eligible customers can also take part in this deal. Without a contract, the Droid X will cost $600 bucks. That’s tablet money right there.
Also, Amazon has a special promotion going on until May 1. If you purchase any Verizon Android phone from Amazon Wireless, you’ll get a $25 credit in the Amazon App Store. That may not seem like a lot of money on the surface, but $25 can go a long way in a world with $0.99 apps. The credit will come in the form of a redeemable code. It will remain valid until December 31, 2011.
The Droid X isn’t the strongest Android phone on Verizon, but it’s no slouch. However, if you’re looking for a smartphone that can take advantage of 4G speeds, you should look elsewhere.
Here are some basic specs on the Droid X.
- 4.3 -inch touchscreen
- HDMI-out
- 1Ghz processor
- Android 2.2 (upgradeable to 2.3)
- 8 megapixel camera
- 720p video recording
- 8GB internal memory, 2GB microSD card
Keep in mind that the Droid X2 will be released soon. It has a Tegra 2 dual core processor and a qHD display.
